He 219 A0

As their homeland burned under them, a handful of men, night after night, tried to stop the wave of allied bombers. It was during the night between 11 and 12 June that Maj Werner Streib and his "Bordfunker" (Radar operator) dropped five British bomber, four Halifax and one Lancaster. After 144 minutes of flight, during the landing, the canopy exploded and with the flaps locked, Maj. Streib attempted a difficult high-speed landing at Venlo Airport. In the incident, Streib reported only some slight injuries, while his Radar operator was seriously injured. The model was obtained from the beautiful Tamiya box in 1/48 (He 219 A7) to turn it into A0 (V9) I used the owl decals radar Fug 202, Falcon's Vacuform canopy creates Vax. I also added the cargo compartment of Aires and the Aires passenger compartment. The decals are always Owl Decals. Altyra added important, the terminal with 4 Quick Boost cannons (which was very underdimensional). Coloring still today is the subject of debates, at that time all notturn hunters were painted with camouflage in RLM 76 and slices in RLM 75 ( both in mottle and reverse mottle). In the photos, however, the aircraft seems apparently all in RLM 76 with some scattered spotters. Probably the aircraft (like all prototypes) was originally painted in Black, and so shortly before its pick-up, it was repaired entirely with the RLM 76, which however left it and transpired the black underneath it.
